Position Overview

This position is principally responsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month end closing activities, reporting and controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

Product Costing

  • Maintain standard cost for purchase for resale finished goods
  • Compile and calculate cost information vital to provide cost for new products.
  • Perform standard cost rolls in SAP on new materials as needed
  • Monthly Purchase Price Variance review. Identify significant favorable/unfavorable variances Responsible for annual standard cost setting
  • Prepare standard margin, inflation, and mix analysis
  • Overhead rate setting

Monthly Closing

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly revenue recognition documentation
  • Assist with Capital requests Assist with month end reporting
  • Assist project managers with spending reviews
  • Accrual and Manage: Freight (inbound, outbound, intra company)

  • Inventory Reserve Analysis

Inventory

  • Update quarterly cycle count reserve analysis
  • Prepare monthly inventory report by plant and brand Lead LIFO schedules
  • Lead physical inventories Assist with Accrual: E&O analysis
  • Assist with Quarterly Lower of Cost or Margin analysis

Compliance

  • Assist with SOX audits
  • Assist with internal and external audits Year end schedule preparation
  • Ensure compliance signature authority matrix
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures
  • Special projects
  • Assist with restructuring projects
  • SAP process improvements/upgrades
  • Maintain process documentation

Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years in a manufacturing environment as a Cost Accountant; or an accounting background with interest in manufacturing
  • SAP experience (finance, controlling, manufacturing and supply chain) Experience with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; Section 404 a plus Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, sophisticated Excel skills

Education

Bachelors Degree in Accounting
