Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Director of Product Management is responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of a profitable product offering throughout the product life cycle. This includes directing, coaching, and mentoring a team of three product managers and customer service team in the activities of: understanding the competitive landscape, gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, defining product vision that is in line with company strategy, and working with engineering, marketing (HEM), business development, sales, operations, corporate pricing, and finance to ensure that our goals are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Define the product strategy and roadmap
• Deliver market requirements documents (MRD’s) and product requirements documents (PRD’s) with market justification
• Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
• Understand the value of the available market and competitor market landscape
• Be an expert with respect to the competition
• Lead voice of the customer campaigns
• Develop sales tools and collateral material for sales/marketing campaigns including trade show management and coordination with HEM
• Develop core positioning and messaging for the product
• Works with business development team and provides training to sales force
• Helps sales/business development teams with product demos for customers
• Provides higher level product application support for both before and after sales.
• Lead Systems Engineering group (BSE) and develop strategies for revenue growth.
• Interact with Business Development team to develop customers and needed offerings
• Works with sales, business development & operations teams, and delivers monthly revenue forecasts
• Develop annual business plans, strategy plans, and budgets

Skills and Experience


• 10+ years of Electric Power Industry or other related experience.
• Electric Power Industry product management/marketing Experience.
• Expertise in developing both end user as well as OEM business.
• Strong fundamental grasp of the Electric power Industry in the protection and control area including communications with SCADA.
• Proven success in the product management and/or marketing.
• Expertise in the development of product road maps, market analysis and intelligence, product definition and life cycle management.
• Strategic vision with practical approach to meet goals.
• Team leader with strong communications skills are required.

B.S. - Electrical Engineering is a must.

MBA is preferred.
