Position Overview
Operates assigned equipment used in executing metal finishing operations by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Roles & Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Loads and unloads tote pans of parts, stacks parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, racks, un-racks, cleans, etches, desmuts, pickles, bright –dips dyes, degreases, heat treats, plates, coats, wet processes and dries parts. Uses electric hoists and manual lifting.
- Following prescribed procedures for processing.
- Fills baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lowers material into appropriate tank.
- Removes parts when process is completed.
- Maintains cleanliness of tanks and work areas.
- Monitors temperature of solutions.
- Maintains daily production logs.
- Physically inspects processing to ensure quality of product.
- May be required to perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance and record keeping as needed.
- May be asked to troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.
- Is responsible for quality of product produced.
- Performs other duties as required.

EDUCTION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job, and the ability to solve problems.
